Seems like Tucker doesn't like the metric system! Or is this a bit of

His guest pulls out an old chestnut about a third of a foot being easily 
calculated as a convenient number but not so a third of a meter. Hmmm. 
What about a fifth of a foot? How many inches is that -- not using 
decimal inches!
