In my local garden centre (in Lincolnshire UK), a local charity recently
had a small table on which you could make donations with a chance to win
a prize in a competition. The competition involved guessing how high a
set of five cup cakes, stacked vertically, was - specifically in cm. I
measured it (I carry a small 2-m metric only tape measure on my key
ring), and put in a rounded value of 21 cm.

The winner 'guessed' it at 20.78 cm! He/she too must have had a tape
with them.
