I'm at the North Carolina surveyors' conference and someone talked about the abolition of the survey foot. He would prefer going completely metric, as would I, but most surveyors here would rather switch to the international foot. How can we encourage surveying in metric (I mean labeling surveys in meters, we already talk about geoid height, changes to datums, and GPS poles in meters)?
