I am metric. Simple, understated and effective. USMA member John Altounji had this great suggestion for a "catch phrase" of sorts for getting our message across - Which got me thinking...
I own a Cricut vinyl cutting machine and would be willing to volunteer my time and reasonable design skills to make some tee shirts with "I am metric" and the usma web site emblazoned on them. Just need some supplies. Tee shirt, transfer material, press. In my opinion, we are no less valid than any other disenfranchised community seeking to be acknowledged equally. After all, hasn't the US the metric system been "the preferred system of weights and measures for United States trade and commerce" since 1988? Why then can't I have my height/weight on my drivers license in displayed cm/kg or mail a package using the SI? What happened, America? Just a thought to see if it can gain some traction. GO METRIC, AMERICA! "Our current system is unworthy of an intelligent nation" - Andrew Carnegie
