Subject: [USRP-users] Missing kernel module in E1xx-003

Hello,
I am attempting to mount a remote directory on my E100 box. I installed
the "cifs" command using opkg:
opkg install cifs
This made the "mount.cifs" command available. However, upon attempting
to mount the remote directory:
mount.cifs //XX.XX.XX.XX/SharedDir /mnt/shared -o rw,exec,userid=<xxxx>
I received the following error:
mount error: cifs filesystem not supported by the system
I found the following discussion thread about this problem:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cifs-utils/+question/192701
The problem occurs when the kernel is unable to find the module
"cifs.ko." This module is not included in the pre-installed module
directory, and I can't find a package that provides it. Does anybody
know where I can find the appropriate version of the module binary, or
at least some steps to compile it myself?
Best wishes,
Kevin Hicks

With the kind assistance of one of the system architects, I am now able
to mount a shared drive to my E100 using cifs. My supposition was
correct, that "cifs.ko" was missing from the kernel modules. I believe
they are working to add the module to the current file tree.
Thanks to all who helped!
