Your USRPS not being able to see each other over the network doesn't have
anything to do with tunnel.py. Also, tunnel.py is specific to GNURadio.

If you want help, please provide as much detail as possible. Explain your
network configuration, can you see both USRPs from a computer on the
network, what have you done to debug this, etc.,?

Cheers,
Ben

Hi,

I've encountered twice on two different N200s connected to two different
computers a situation in which the USRP responds to ping but uhd won't
connect to it. My own uhd code won't connect and uhd_find_devices reports
nothing. Diconnecting power to the USRP and reconnecting solves the problem.

What causes this problem, and is there a way to make the USRP operational
from this state without power cycling?

Thanks, Sivan Toledo

It sounds like a process is locking the USRP -- So, when you open the
device in the uhd, the driver periodically sends a heartbeat to say - i
have claimed you. So find will not find the device when its locked.

I wonder if you have some program that died but the process is still
alive on your machine, claiming the device.

A more binary way to prove if this might be the case -- when this
condition happens, does restarting the PC also fix the issue?

Hi all -

The Wireless Innovation Forum has announced this year's SDR design contest
for undergraduate and graduate students.

In case you haven't seen the announcement, yet, check it out!

Hello,

I'm using an E100. I flashed and booted an SD card image from the
latest image blob:

    http://files.ettus.com/e1xx_images/e1xx-003/e1xx-003-make.tar.b2

I logged in to the E100 and updated the kernel and kernel modules:

    opkg update; opkg upgrade

I removed the UHD components:

    opkg remove uhd* --force-depends

I pulled the latest UHD Git repository:

    git clone git://ettus.sourcerepo.com/ettus/uhd.git

I followed the directions in the FAQ to compile and install it:

http://code.ettus.com/redmine/ettus/projects/usrpe1xx/wiki/FAQ#How-do-I-install-UHD-from-source

I downloaded the latest FPGA images:

    sudo /usr/local/lib/uhd/utils/uhd_images_downloader.py

Now uhd_usrp_probe returns the following error:

"Error: RuntimeError: Expected module compatibility number 0x4, but got 0x3:
The module build is not compatible with the host code build."

Although I pulled all the latest everything, there seems to be a version
mismatch somewhere. What can I do to fix this?

Regards,

Kevin Hicks

Hi,

I'm involved in planning a wireless testbed to accommodate up to 32
nodes using USRP N-series devices.
What type of server and network configuration would you recommend for
this kind of setup? Are there any tried-and-tested solutions out there
at the moment?

Thanks,
Paul

At this point you should have uhd-3.5.0. Is there a reason you need a
later version? I need to to an update for 3.5.1 at some point, but the
diffs are pretty minor for the E100.
