It should not be completely random. There will be a (fixed, for a given
configuration of sample rate, etc) delay, due to group-delay in
interpolation filters, group-delay in analog components, etc. But
that will be fixed. You'll need to characterize this delay for your
particular setup.
If it *isnt*, then there's something wrong with the way you're
requesting timed transmission.
Perhaps you could share the relevant parts of your code?
