Hello, I have run into this problem regularly. This problem seems to be linked with the SD card and is not a software issue.
Try the following: 1. Cleanly format the SD card (write all 0's to it) and then use UHD to image it. I prefer to use CCleaner and windows disk manager. It should take an hour or so depending on how many stubborn sectors your card has. 2. Use a different SD card. NAND flash has a finite write endurance and micro SD cards can die from too many image flashes. I managed to burn/kill four 16 Gb micro SD cards over the summer. You can buy a pack of 10 for around $40 on Amazon/Newegg.
