Thank you, thank you, thank you. CUPS is now high on my list of cool things. That web based setup at http://localhost:631 is one of the niftiest little gimmicks I've seen (mainly because it actually worked, after endless hours of toying with foomatic, lpadmin, etc.etc. etc.) Anyone else that's having trouble, install everything and its dog that even pretends to have the word CUPS in it, and then follow Michael's advice. Wow, it's so refreshing to be able to not have to boot into the accursed windows to print. (btw, I have this mailing list sent to my cs account since I prefer not to have the zillions of e-mails coursing through my main account, but since that doesn't support outgoing mail from off campus, I can't reply using it, and so anything I send has to go annoy some guy who checks it for swear words, neo-nazi/communist propaganda, and sexual innuendos before passing it on. Is there any simple solution to this? I really wouldn't mind having it sent to my main account and then just setting my client to delete it off the server, except I don't want to delete my other messages necessarily, and it appears that I can't make the client use filters to decide what to delete. Oh well, enough whining.)
