I'm running a DHCP server on my Cyrix 266 machine. When I make a DHCP request on my laptop it takes 30 seconds before it gets an IP. However, when I have my DSL Modem (cisco 678) handing out DHCP, my laptop can get an IP from it in about 0.5 seconds. Any ideas why my Cyrix box would be such a sluggish DHCP server?
(Note that I've got it setup to give my laptop a static IP based on MAC and to deny any "unknwon-clients". Though I think it had the same slowness even when it was handing out IPs carefree. ) --Dave ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://phantom.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list
