When I have a conceptual question instead of a function reference question, I browse the manual's table of contents. The php manual (http://www.php.net/manual/en/) is really well written and very simple. I would recommend that you read parts I-III. An "intro to programming" book or tutorial would also help you out a lot. There are many of them available written specifically for php. Good luck, Richard
