I've been thinking about setting my parents up on Mozilla Firebird and
Thunderbird. These apps offer plenty of functionality for my parents, but
I'm concerned about security issues. Does anyone know if the security in
these apps is just as good as Mozilla, IE or the other browsers. I know
these apps are in development and are still a little buggy. Would any of
these bugs make my parent's vulnerable? For example, while banking online.

Anyway, any thoughts would be greatly apprecaited. These would end up being
their sole browser and mail client.

thanks,

john
