Thanks for the tips. I thought I had rdesktop and tsclient installed. Is there something I need to do to start a service or something?

thanks,

I would like to use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to my RH9 box like I connect to my WinXP box. I am connecting from a laptop running Windows 2000. I thought that if I had vncserver running on the Linux box I could use RDC to connect to it, but it isn't working. I really don't think it is a firewall issue because I have disabled them at both ends. Of course, I would like to get this working with active firewalls.

Anyway, please give me any insights you have.

Thank you,

John-

VNC uses a different protocol than Microsoft's RDP. There are several
clients that support RDP (e.g., rdesktop, tsclient), but AFAIK Windows
RDC does not support VNC. However, you can download the VNC client for
Windows at http://www.realvnc.org/ . This you can use to connect to
anything running VNC server (e.g., Windows, Linux)--including KDE
Desktop Sharing, if you use KDE. That should get you started.
