Yes, there are kernels guidelines, and it looks like arch is not following
them :(
The kernel version should be composed of threee parts, so 3.0.0 instead of
3.0
The version scheme changed with the 3.0 release. Regular releases are
now 3.0, 3.1, etc. and stable releases are e.g. 3.0.1. Unsurprisingly,
this broke a few things.
