I am sure i read a post some days ago, where the 3 scheme was re-introduced.

By the way, it is no more a problem, i have fixed this morning the build 
support for 2 digit uname(), currently it is only needed on arch as the other 
distro i tested
already use the 3.0.0 form. I think we should be safe until 4 (instead of 4.0) 
:)
