I am not sure about 94 but my 99 where 9 5/8. Since both are at that cut off
newer year from yamaha I bet yours are the same. Keep in mind what springs
you are using, especially if someone else has already made a change. They
might be shorter than stock length or longer therefor needing the shorter
spacer length. Also keep in mind who owned it before you...meaning are they
big, small, tall, short, do they always have a rider, ect. I guess I would
say the setting might have been perfect for the other rider....most of it has
to do with preload. If you get the preload close most any combination will
work. Still there should be some kind of presure on the spring when all is
installed. Are you not including the length (3/4) of the fork cap? When
installed that would make the difference...LOL
