Interesting... your empirical data contradicts the theoretical. Generally a
4-1 out performs up top while a 4-2-1 has a stronger mid range. For
reference, did you compare the pipes with the same can or at least identical
length and bore? Did the dyno operator have an exhaust analyzer to confirm
the state of tune? Were any other changes made to the bike for the runs eg
plugs etc...
