Terry,
I had an 18" x 2" bore can on the Hindle. Kerker is the 16" can x 2.5" bore. Did
not use a gas
analyzer. I had my max on the dyno all day 3 weeks ago this coming Saturday. I
tuned with
AG runs as well as RO's. Set the bike for the most linear curve (AG) and slope
(RO). It is
real obvious to me what the FUEL CURVE is. Its just setting how much. I ignore ,
for the most
part, plug color. I fine tune the main jets with 1/4 trap speed. If you look at
the Kerker pipe, the
collector is huge as compared to the Hindle. Is the Kerker really a true 4.2.1?
1 and 3 cylinder head
pipes are longer than the Hindle which may compensate for the longer 18" can on
the Hindle. A 2.5"
pipe will breath better than a 2". I tell you one thing Terry, This KERKER PIPE
IS A COMPLETE
WASTE OF MONEY if you use the stock 1.5" baffle. ABSOLUTELY no benefits over a
Hindle.
My max lost aLL of its low end grunt. You have to use the larger bore can to get
the benefits over
the Hindle. The 2.5" is just to loud for me. I have to wear ear plugs when I
ride. Ive lost interest in riding
except at the drag strip! Ordered a 2" bore baffle and will dyno again. If you
want the most out of your
stock max, use the KERKER. But for a person who wants great sound with a decent
performance increase,
buy the Hindle. Quite simply, my 1/4 mile time slips prove it....and of
course..the seat of the pants feeling
is like night and day. My max will wheelie just by rolling the throttle in first
gear when I'm already doing 5-10
mph. I could never do that with the Hindle. I'm still considering using a Stage
7 setup....of course, my way,
not dynojets way.......
