Hi Simon, Sorry I could not answer sooner, but I will try to explain what I did. Yes they are the Laser pro stock pipes, the street legal. When I first had them on, after taking the bike for a spin I returned to the shop for I had clearly noticed a loss in top-end power. They could not do anything to help me. I said what I wanted and they got it for me that's all. They would of course take them off and return them to the importer, but I liked the looks, the stainless steel and how light they were. I decided to keep them and by looking at the rear outlet I was convinced I would be able to remove what I thought was the only restriction to get a clear 2" open exhaust system, but... Have you ever tried drilling SS? these restrictors where made to stay and had all round weld on them. I just could not remove them. I went to a well known exhaust manufacturer that worked a lot with SS and he said he would give it a go, but leaving all responsibility to me. When I went to pick the bike he had the two restrictors removed (some kind of labyrinth at the end of the cans) and handed them back to me saying that the sound was not that much louder, since against my belief the rest of the pipe was not a straight through pipe but just more labyrinths inside (I keep the end bits so I can weld them back if I ever sell the bike). Anyway, out on the road again and this time I regained the top end power, maybe a little bit more than standard but I could not be sure. But.... The mid range was gone, my bike would come alive over 7000 rpm, but under that just a black hole. So I gathered the money and went all the way by installing a Dynojet Stage 7. I will never forget the first ride on the new born monster, I had difficulty in keeping the bike on two wheels and had quite a time in trying to stay on the bike myself. Since then I have done 5000 miles, worn out rear and front (yes, the same way you accelerate from the traffic lights, you also have to stop the locomotive with even more urgency). Right now, this coming Thursday I leave the bike in the shop to replace both tyres and all the brake pads. Is it worth it? well of course, but I will try to keep it down, since I cannot afford to wear out all those items in such a short period, but knowing you have that brutal power between the legs makes me feel great. Well Simon I hope I helped you out and try to keep in touch. Would love to see you down in Torrevieja this summer, specially if you take your bike.
