Hey List,
Got back from Bikeweek Daytona last night. It was a decent experience. I
had lots of fun, but missed out on all the Vmax get-togethers. Word Of
Advice .....Get informed before you go!!! I got misdirected to the Dyno
shootout. By the time I found it, they had finished. Dude told me the
highest was 128hp. I'm guessing that was stock w/ a pipe. I really wanted
to test mine since it's running like never before thanks to Don Smith's
advice. They also had drags at the airport that I missed. I will definitely
join the VMOA soon so I will be informed. I did get to meet 6 Vmaxers around
town. Never seen a NOS equipped bike up close. They look kinda
intimidating!!
My highlight was demo-ing a BMW K1200RS on the infield track of Daytona
International Speedway twice. 130hp, 630lb (wet) crotch-rocket with ABS. It
handled great, but needed more torque and hp to match my stock max.
Have you heard about the Drunken harley rider that went up the wrong side
of the I-95 exit ramp and hit a fellow Harley head on? They both died. 13
total deaths and they were all pretty much related to human stupidity. Real
Shame.
