Howie, your guess is wrong I think! I'm not sure what you meant by 'stock
w/ a pipe'; I'm assuming stock engine, carbs, etc... But rarely does
anybody put a pipe on their bike and keep everything else 'stock'.
I was at the Dyno shootout, and most of the stock bikes (no engine mods or
aftermarket pipes) put out between 100 & 110 hp. My 'stock' '85 with
'stock' replacement pipes (just found that out this weekend!) only pushed
102 hp.
All of the bikes that were in the 120hp range were hardly stock!
Unfortunately I had to leave with only 3 bikes left in the shootout. (my
wife didn't want any of the free food/drink supplied by RockyMtn SportMax &
the Furburs...) Does anyone on the list know what Paul's turbo-nitrous Max
ran? Did they use 'the gas'? Did the engine blow up as he feared it
might?
