I shaped a piece of thin s/steel to form a mudguard that joined the black
mudguard at the bottom & ended just under the rear light. Changed the light
for a tidy, smaller (& cheap) unit (had to enlarge the mounting holes to
fit). Put the wiring safe away from any spray & you're away.! Warning -
the spray from the rear tyre leaves dirty water streaks as far as your
helmet & large dirty blotches on the rear seat. Even 'damp' (not wet) roads
can do the dirty..
I loved the way it looks so I persevered.

One of the UK VMax Club members makes a hugger, which looks brilliant. I
was planning one of these to reduce the spray problem, then I had the off.

Subject: Removing Rear fender

: Does anyone have any experience with the difficulties of removing the rear
fender like I see lots of the Euro maxes doing. I think it looks great and
the only problem I can see would be with relocating the tail light and
getting sprayed by the back tire on a wet road. Anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks,
: Scott Thompson
