TC, no i didn't clamp them on the stacks. if you try one before doing any cutting you'll see that there is quite enough friction fit to keep them where you put them. provided you don't mash on them putting them back on the carbs. i guess the venture stacks would indeed clear more filter but i'm pretty sure that the height of the Max stack was correctly calculated for the job.MAX TORQUE EVERYWHERE, the fella's with dyno access will probably tell us they get somemore "redline" horses with the shortys though, an area i formerly only visited by accident, but now find alarmingly easy to find. tonight we'll install the "TC advancer circuit" and see what this baby can really do. play around with it, if you find some improvment let me know...........steve#1131

Steve,
OK .... so you "are" clamping the filters to the bodies of the rubber velocity stacks right ?? I felt inside of the filters and they do sorta have a rounded entry lip ... I would still like to try the 2" diameter exhaust pipe extensions ... of course nothing beats having those factory stacks in there ... I wonder how Rey's shorty Venture stacks would work ?? You wouldn't think they would be that hard to come by in the junk yards ............... and would give you more clearance inside the filter.
