I have the 97 with the oil leak. I couldn't find the source myself and I
took it to the dealer -- the day it decided to stop leaking! The dealer
took a look at it and did some other sked maintenance, but he figured it
stopped leaking on its own. It didn't leak when I brought it home, but it
started again. I attribute this to the distance ridden -- only 8 or 10
miles to the dealership. It leaks a couple of teaspoonfuls if I ride at
least 25 miles or so. The oil level went from the top of the sight glass
to the middle in about 1100 miles.
I'll take it back to the dealer in a few weeks if I can't figure it out
myself.
