I just posted another dozen or so photo's of my reworked '88 V-Max (hence
the name Re-Max). Some of you may have seen the first few. The new ones show
more detail of things like the polished water pump cover and master cylinder
covers. Both of these I did myself. There are shots of Pierre's triple tree
clamps for mounting the ZX9 front end and a whole bunch of other stuff. Some
of the pictures make the paint look pink-ish but that was just the camera.
The color is actually the stock '88 color with metal flake added in for a
little flare.
Once you enter the site click on the 'Re-Max' like to see the new
photos. The 'V-Max' link has pictures of how it looked before the crash.
I'm still working on the write-up about how, why and where for all of
the mods. That should be finished in a few days. This became quite an
article once I began compiling all the experiences I've gone through. This
is nothing new to anyone who has gone through a major modification to their
max. There are always a dozen things that do go exactly as you planned but
battling through these little trials is worth it in the end.
Just yesterday I took the new and improved Max out for a serious spin
through the hills and I am very please with the handling. It's a whole
different bike in the corners. My center of gravity is so much lower and so
are my feet. I kept dragging my toes if I left them hanging too far under
the shifter or rear brake lever. Just something to get used to I guess.
Enjoy,
Bryan - VMOA #706
