I'm considering buying a Harley as a second bike & wondered if anyone knows
if a Harley can share my garage with my Max ? I don't want them to be
fighting when I'm at work or insulting each other etc. I know Kelly Cash &
others have more than one bike & they seem to get along OK. Would the group
shun me ? Does anyone else out there have a Harley & a Vmax ?

Bob,
I've seen your supercharged 'Max, and there ain't a Harley made that I would
trade for the work of art you have. Harley has massive aftermarket
support -true. They retain their market value -true. But the truth is,
most of what is perceived as being so cool about a Harley is due to the
image of those pioneers who rode Harleys a long time ago, and the HD
marketing machine's penchant for cashing in on that image. Todays hog rider
would just as likely be found in a courtroom, boardroom, or operating room.
HD is milking this image while they sell substandard technology to the
masses who are starving for an identity.

Having said this, hey, I like the sound and feel of a big v-twin just as
much as the next guy. It's crude, it's primative, it's almost primal.
Check out the some of the HD alternatives though. Confederate makes about
as up-to-date a v-twin as is available. I would consider used too. Can't
guarantee the HD won't get an inferiority complex though. You might have to
chain it outside - they've been known to have bad toilet habits.
