I have seen several pictures of modification holes to the top of the "wishbone air cleaner cover in order to get more free flowing air to the air cleaner. Wouldn't it be easier to just remove this piece completely? On my 99 Max it does not hold the air cleaner at all. The Box cover does. This would open up the entire top of the air cleaner.
