I'm still trying to get my 5" Autometer Monster tach/shift lite to work on my Max. I got the Diodes recommended (6amp/1000PIV) but connecting coils #1 and #3 (rear coils easier to reach) gives me 0 RPM on the tach. Removing either coil at a time will give me 1/2 of actual RPMs. I am pointing the diodes towards the tach (they completely block the tach signal if pointing towards the coils) I get the same result using Autometer part #19241, 2 coil tach adapter. Now for my question: Since the Max's firing order is 1-3-4-2 , shouldn't I be connecting coils [#1 and #4] or [#3 and #2]? It seems to me that connecting #1 and #3 would give a X-X-0-0 signal to the tach, instead of the desired X-0-X-0. I will also try another tach I have laying around - the 0 RPM reading is very strange....... Paul #941 .............................................
