OK, here's something I have been wondering about for a while. I notice a lot
of people having carb problems of one sort or another. I have a single carb
on my Vmax & it works way better than the stock gang of carbs. I know Walker
abandoned his 2 bbl carb project but it seems to me if Mad Max can come up
with a single carb setup that works (granted I have it feeding a blower)
well, why couldn't something similar be done with a normally aspirated Max
by simply designing a manifold to handle the carb ? I use a Weber 45DCOE
side draft & it is a really nice carb. I can change jets in about 1 minute &
of course no synchronizing problems. It seems it should have no problem
feeding a "stock" Max by simply using smaller venturi (which are also easy
to swap out on this carb) & jetting. You can get practically any jet you can
imagine for this carb & they are cheap since it only uses them in pairs &
they are available from speed shops anywhere.
Anyway, I'm sure there are legitimate reasons why this hasn't been done
(other than cost) but I thought I'd see if anyone knows any.
