I'll answer 3 different postings so it doesn't take up so much space:

<< Did you have to specify that it was for a 2 cyl.? >>
   Drew,
the tach has dip switches inside (like some computer cards) and the
instructions tell you which combinations to use for either 2,4,6, or 8
cylinders.
The secret to filling up with gas with the Corbin seat is to close your
eyes and chant "My hand is real small" over and over while you reach inside
the seat to put the gas cap on or off. :-)

<<Does it say anything about the 2 cyl. mode being for 2 stroke
or 4 stroke? Also curious about VDO's reliability>>
   Don,
I looked into Pro Cycle but couldn't find anyone local to supply one. So when
I saw the VDO model that worked with a 2 cyl engine (it doesn't say so I
assume they meant 4-stroke) that I could get easily, I figured I'd try it.
Reliability?? I guess I'll find out about that. Always a little skeptical
about using auto parts on motorcycles, especially electronics.

<<Rodney, I am assuming that when you say that you hooked it up to the
existing wiring for the stock tach you were talking about the gray wire,
right?>>
   Tomas,
what I did was pull all 3 wires from the stock tach. The black for ground,
brown for power, and gray for the coil connection. That made it easy for me,
getting all my connections in 1 place, and the power and light is on anytime
I turn on the ignition. And I know the power lead is fussed.
