SO I took my max to the track tonite to meet fellow colorado maxers and
watch my friend run his 1428 Long Rod run down the track. I got to meet
Sat Tara (and race from a roll on). I also met another guy named Bob
Geiser or something pretty close to that. A fellow vmaxer named Dave
Novotny showed up with his Hayabusa and it was great hanging out with
him also. A wise man once said make your enemies your best friend :-)
Just kidding Dave. Anyway Dave's bike is stock and in usual Hayabusa
fashion was pretty impressive. He ended the night with a 11.29 at 132
MPH. It was really great to meet these guys.
On to the vmax!! Pat's vmax ran a 12.20 at 109 the first run (he shut it
down due to fear and a oil light that kept coming on) 11.46 at 120 the
second and an 11.44 at 121.5 the third run. His clutch didn't hold out
and he got kicked off of the track for going over 120 without leathers.
(which is why i didn't run mine) This is really pretty phenominal for
the vmax because Pat weighs around 250 lbs and Dave weighs around 175.
Pat was roasting the tire off the launch and it was his first race this
year. He was extremly proud of the fact he got kicked from the track for
being TOO FAST!! a personal lifetime goal of his. :) His bike had 140 HP
last year (now 170)and he ran 3MPH faster this year in his first time
out. I think he'll see 125 to 128 once the clutch is happy. That is
really encouraging as I now feel that 10's are going to become quite
commonplace for my max!!
Sat Tara, Did you notice when we got on the ramp to c-470 and I got on
it that my tire spun from about a 25 punch. Fortunately it spun straight
!! One other note. If you have never experienced the g-force of a
monster bike than I will try to describe the feeling in my stomach it is
almost sickening. But in a good way, there is a mix of fear and
excitement that is pretty intense.
Thats all for now Still trying to figure the most cost effective way to
get the leathers and the Helmet that I need.
Take care From Colorado Phil
