Hi Jacques, (as the French say when commandeering an airplane)
Have been wrestling with this since you came up with your insulating
solution. Are you sure the problem you cured isn't vapor lock rather than an
electrical problem? Given the location of the fuel pump/line/filter/tank,
and the location of your insulation, as well as the nature of the problem
itself, it still seems to me that the most likely candidate is fuel rather
than electrically related. I can't think of anything electrical in the
neighborhood that would respond to this fix. (The ignitor, which is the most
likely temperature-sensitive electrical piece is in another zipcode.) Also,
vapor lock would approximate what TC and I thought was a vent related fuel
feed problem. Fits all the symptoms. Just a guess.
