Remove the two (or 3) plugs on the side - where the stator connects to
the
regulator; to ground (black); and electrical system (red).  Solder each
connection and insulate each with tape or heat shrink tubing.

I know this sounds like a hack job, but I swear I solves the problem of
the
regulator undercharging due to the slight resistance in these
connectors.

After replacing everythng (but my stator) I did this (suggested on the
list) and
everything is up to specs.  Starts instantly now, with never any
hesitation due
to a marginal batery charge.
