I have considered simply a larger tire but given the V-max resistance to turning I didn't want to add more gyroscopic action to the rear by adding mass to the tire. It may be negligible but I'd have to weigh/measure the tires before the swap. TC - The 5th gear mod sounds like what I might be after. Agreed, I want the bike to keep its launch/acceleration character but would like it to be a little less buzzy at highway speeds. I haven't disassembled the transfer case (output shaft to driveshaft) on a V-max but if someone can adapt a belt drive to it then I can design a dual range to improve its highway manners. An overdrive is what I suppose I am really looking for...
