John: My stock Vmax has a tube linking both fork legs to equalize the pressure. However I like the idea of no air pressure to reduce the stress on the seals. However I doubt the internal of the forks are solid oil or there would be leaks, so there must be some space to take care of the reducing volume as the forks collapse under load. I would suspect that some air pressure is required to avoid a vacuum when the seals rebound from being compressed to full or better volume. Coincidentally do you have emulators in yours. I am considering buying a set of progressive springs to lower the bike by ~2" but am also considering the set from Race-Tech which can included emulators. The concern I have about the emulators is the difficulty of making adjustments to them if not right the first time. regards Wayne Wayne H Pettipas Tel 613-596-9473 Fax 613-596-9969 E [EMAIL PROTECTED] VMOA--#1266
I would not run any air pressure in the forks. It's very hard to get identical pressure in both legs. I ran 5 psi. and they started leaking pretty soon afterwards. Buy new springs from Race Tech to fix the undersprung front end problem. You'll be much happier with the end result, I am. They cost about $100.00. John .............................................
