Got a question,
Was out riding the past few days and noticed today for the first time
my Max after fired while throttle was closed on a long decel. from speed
on several occasions. Also at steady state low speed cruise, off idle to
about 4k it seems to surge as if a plug is not completely firing. Idle
is smooth ( no loping ) and high rpm seems ok. I pulled the plugs ( 4800
mi. since new) and they seem a little sooty to me. Now a little past
history, a few months back i removed the end plates off the exhaust and
drilled the back plate with 3/8 holes for motorist notification,
could it be that the engine is running rich? is the air bleed in the
picture at the rpm range as stated? it seemed fine in the colder
weather. Think I need to turn the air bleed screw in to lean it out.? It
seems that I have heard of this problem before, any insight would help
greatly.
