Understand I purchased my V-Max in a very disabled state. Its fuel lamp
and reserve have never worked. Last week I replaced its gas tank and
sending unit. Now I get a low fuel light after 3 gallons or so have been
used. My question is how does the reserve switch work. After riding some
time on the red light,it simply shut down (outta fuel). I immediately
thumbed the switch from on to reserve and hit my starter
button...NOTHING.
A short push to the gas station and it started right up after taking 3.2
gallons. What is up? The handlebar switch mechanism was checked and
seems to be working. I need the collective wisdom of the list cracking
the code.
