Charles
I got hold of some R1 calipers which bolted straight
on to my 99 max. Not only do they look trick with the
blue inserts but they also work extremely well and use
the stock m/cyl. They are single billet calipers made
by Sumitomo. I don't know why Yamaha don't fit them
as standard because the difference is night and day.
Two finger braking has the front tyre squealing.
Along with my Progressive suspension and the solid
mounts this was one of the very best value for money
mods I did and it also did not break the bank like
some of the more exotic braking hardware would. Trust
me on this, no fancy brackets, no spacers, no
fabrication at all, just a direct replacement using
the stock max rotors. It took me half an hour to fit
and bleed the pair. Does anyone want to buy a pair of
stock 99 max calipers with less than 250 miles use?
Regards
Steve
