Welcome to the list! After a while, you'll wonder how you ever managed
without it.

First, if you're not already a member of the VMOA, join. Best money you'll
ever spend.

Then, call K & N Yamaha in Tulsa and order "new" parts for about the same if
not less than what you'll pay at most salvage yards. VMOA members get the
parts at about 35% off of list price. They are very nice to deal with.
Their number is 918 446-6657. But ...... you have to be a member of the
VMOA to get the discount. Order a couple of parts and you'll more than
cover the cost of the membership.

As an example, I went shopping for a clutch master cylinder a while back
(this was before I knew about K & N). I called 6 or 8 salvage yards. The
best salvage price I found was $75. I ordered it. Got it and it had dirt
inside and road rash on the outside. Sent it back. Wait and wait. Finally
got the replacement. It was in good shape but was a front brake master, not
a clutch master. Sent it back and canceled the order. Called K & N, got a
brand new one, complete, for $61.

See what I mean?

Yes, you can run the vboost open all the time. I've had mine that way for
over a year and I know a number of others who do the same. I don't think
there's any big difference in performance. I just like the way it loaps at
idle.

Henry
