Hey Kraig,

No. It's a characteristic of the voltage regulation system on the Max that
peak charging voltage occurs at a relatively low RPM range, between
1800-2500 rpm. If you put a voltmeter on the battery as you vary the
throttle, you'll see it go up briefly off idle then drop as the revs rise.
