Vern,
I have a 1300 Venture with Max heads, etc.  Max cams have much greater lift
and longer duration than the Venture's.  The Max cams are not radical - they
are just "sport cams" compared with the Venture's.  Also, the steep ramps of
the Venture cams turned me off on using them with the Max valve springs.
With Venture valve springs  anc cams my experience is that you can safely
rev to 8500 rpm, 1000 over the Venture red line.
