If ya are thinking of adding drop tanks to your bike here are some problems I ran into... Kraig The "P-51" Long Range Max
Actually I have a 600 mile range. That is when that dam low fuel red light blinks to life!!!! After that I have 20 miles and I am pushing. You are right Drew that is alot of weight. It's 12 gallons mounted in the location of the saddle bags = 96lbs of fuel. It took me a while to get use to. It is kinda like having a passenger that will not lean into the turns with you. I am sure most of us have been there. Also there is a cut off valve on each tank. When on the side stand, one tank is 4" higher than the other. I had to install a cut off valve on each tank to stop the high tank from draining out of the low tank's fill spout. I cannot tell you how many times I forgot to open the high tank's valve on the interstate untill about an hour and 1/2 later and I was leaning 10 degreese because of the weight differential. I also had to add a super brace up front and Furber's frame brace due to the fact that all that weight in the rear caused a wobble in the stearing at low sp! eed. Kraig The "P-51" Long Range Max
