I've had my Maxine (1990) -- hey, if i'm gonna be in the saddle all day,
it's dern well gonna be w/ a lady! -- for about a month. Now, living in San
Francisco, i haven't ridden it much in temp's above 75 degrees, but on the
two times i have (80-85 degrees) the engine seemed to me to be getting
awfully hot. The temp gauge seemed happy, 50-60% of the way to redline, but
the heat coming off the engine seemed abnormal, i.e. my legs (esp the right
one) and even the seat were uncomfortably hot. Is this normal w/ an engine
of this size? I owned a Nighthawk 650 for 10 years (until it was totalled)
& it never felt that hot. 'Course, it's a slightly different animal...

ALSO, i don't know if i was imagining it or not, but she seemed to be
running harder as well. Keep in mind that fluid levels are all good & i was
riding conservatively (~5000 rpm).

Is this normal?
