Yes, I got my pen from Color Rite. 5409U is their paint code for Dark
Violet Cocktail #1 (factory code 295). There is no additional top
coat other than the clear coat. I even got the clear coat pen, TFCC
(U), to restore the shine after the touch up. I spoke with Color Rite
before I purchased the pens and this was supposedly the right
combination. The color I received is much lighter than original and
looks more like a metallic blue. It's very obvious where I applied the
color. I had a few paint chips on the front of my false tank. A few of
them were down to the metal so, I suppose it's better to have filled
them with some color rather than allowing them to rust.
I know that my paint is original so whatever bike Color Rite matched to
may have been a different shade or perhaps faded. Probably the best way
to get a more accurate color match would be to send them one of my
painted parts and have them mix the color to match. I suppose any good
automotive paint shop should be able to do the same thing.
