Charles,
I would definately agree with you on the max not
being designed for high speeds,I had a GSXR for 10
years prior to owning the MAX,there is no comparision
regarding high speed handling and capability.
But just this morning I ran the MAX up to 135 on the
interstate,I do it all the time, nearly ever time I
ride. I only do this on the interstate( 3 open
lanes,no traffic)
If I am on one particular stretch I will run it up to
and past 145. I have had the solid mounts in for
nearly a year and I have no wobble,no weave,nothing
the bike does'nt move. Actually, I had none before
changing the stock mounts out. The solid mounts made
an incredible overall difference in the bike. Your
bike may have another problem if it is weaving.
If I had to make an evasive action at high speed I
would definately want a sport bike too,but I used to
run the Suzuki up to 150 on the same stretch of road,I
did it the same way, tucked down and just pointed it
straight ahead. The ride on the MAX is no doubt a lot
more windy and exciting, you can feel the speed,on the
GSXR,like you stated ,you can't really tell the
difference in 100 and 140.
