Actually, in 1920, lead was added to gasoline in order to control/prevent
engine knock.  It was not discovered until later that the lead molecules
could be utilized as a valve seat lubricant.  Because todays gasoline
additive packages have overcome the need for lead in order to prevent engine
knock, AND, the fact that the valves in the Vmax engine do not require lead
for lubrication purposes, I would have to disagree with your statement that
"leaded is better for it".  (Unless of course you do want young children to
develop kidney problems from inhaled airborne lead).
