Disk locks are fine to deter the opportunist thief, and can give you some
extra time if they have to lift the wheel to turn the bike (definitely a
"they").  They're also easily portable.  Check comparison tests & pay extra
if need be for the best.  Also, important bit here, check out the recent
posts on various ways of remembering the disk lock is in place...

If you go for a chain & lock try it on the wheel(s) first - anything thin
enough to go through the rear wheel isn't worth bothering with - there isn't
a lot of room on the front slots either...

For the cover it's worth seeing what the accessory shops have to offer.
Again, prepare to pay extra for a cover that has loops (to thread a lock)
and "breathes" - condensation gathered under a cover can cause more damage
than leaving the bike out in the rain..
