The scoops have a clear coat on them that needs to be removed. Then there
was gret paint on the lower part of the scoops that needed to be removed.
I did it the hard way and used light sand paper (220) and then I used a
scotch bright pad along with WD-40 as a lubricant to remove any light
scratches. If you're gonna go this route, remember to sand with the
grain,,, not against it. Best bet is to buy some paint stripper.
Once you have them down to bare aluminum polishing them was the easy part.
Buffing wheel on bench grinder and used white stick.
Then I put a coat of wax on them.
They came out pretty shiney. You can see yourself in them. Never gonna be
the same as chromed ones but it's pretty darn close.
I'm happy with the results.
