I have a 2000 max and have had my cover off numerous times. Sometimes I have
to play with the refit as one side will be snug and the other side a little
loose (1/8")
play. And it will vary from side to side. Also you must be very carefull as
the tank brackets will scratch the top of your scoops if you push down too
much or dont align just right. I watched the salesman remove and refit the
cover and he had some real difficulty. My is snug now, but only after
repeated refits by trial and error. And yes,
I have some little scratches on the top of my scoops .
