oil]. People REALLY
get upset if you question their choice of motor oil .....
According to my official Yamaha owner's manual LIT-11626-09-25 all
they specify is:
"Recommended engine oil classification;
API Service "SE", "SF" type or equivalent
(e.g. "SF-SE", "SF-SE-CC", "SF-SE-SD" etc.).
Ofcourse its a yamaha book so they push their Yamalube 4(20w40) or
SAE 20w40 type SE motor oil
or in colder climates
Yamalube 4 (10w30) or
SAE 10w30 type SE motor oil
So the choice is pretty wide open, but for my money the mobil 1 full
synthetic
MX4T is the BEST choice .....its called INSURANCE. not required, but it
may save your
engine someday, how about when your on a trip driving through a
construction zone and
you CAN'T pull over to let MONSTER MAX cool down .......thats when this
stuff
pays for its self........Its the same with full synthetic in your car,
not required, but its
extra insurance for the life of your engine.......
